· 1960’s / 70’s – J.S. Redpath “Engineering Department”
· 1985 / 86 – Engineering corporate entities formed in Canada and the United States
· 1993 / 95 – Redpath McIntosh “spin-off” from Redpath – 100% employee owned
· 2001 – McIntosh Engineering name change
· 2006 – Fully melded global “One Team” operations structure implemented
McIntosh Engineering was originally established in Canada during the early 1960’s when “Engineering” was formed as a division of J. S. Redpath Limited, an underground contracting company located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. The original McIntosh “Engineering” Companies (Canada and USA) were formed in 1986 as wholly owned subsidiaries of The Redpath Group.
An ownership change during 1993 resulted in creation of independent engineering companies under the direction of Scott L. McIntosh, a long-term employee and former senior executive of the Redpath Group. The company name was changed to McIntosh Engineering to ensure client recognition of the independent business operations.
